His name is Richard Durazo. He grew up in the middle of nowhere with an old guitar his grandpa gave him, and he has been hooked on music ever since. There is so much music out there that he cannot commit himself to just one style, and since he can’t sound like anyone else, he has to sound like himself.
In my wildest dreams there’s a chill hangout spot in the back yard at Snowfort, where kids run around freely, people read their new books in Westport chairs under big umbrellas, picnic blankets are spread out, dogs prance around—and someone plays music to entertain us all. Basically it’s the isle of La Grand Jatte with cornhole and Eagles covers.
We are working toward that goal, starting with occasional “music on the porch” sessions.
This time we’re featuring Vermont singer / songwriter Richard Durazo, now based in Vermont after many years in California. His sound blends folk, blues, gospel, and reggae influences—originals along with crowd-requested covers for an engaging, soulful set.
