We’re thrilled to be launching our new series of live literary readings–Moonglow–with four noteworthy female voices: Jane Boxall, Kristen Holt-Browning, Sara Schaff, and Amie Zimmerman.
Jane Boxall is an adventurous percussionist and writer, working internationally across diverse genres. Her writing has been published recently by Gutter, Last Stanza, Channel, Dream Pop Press, Hungry Hill Writing, Poems Please Me, and Ó Bhéal, and less-recently in Just Seventeen magazine. Jane has been shortlisted for the 2018 Keats-Shelley Prize in poetry, the Ouse Washes Poetry Competition, and the Erbacce Prize. Born in England and raised in Scotland, Jane completed her doctorate in Percussion Performance and Literature in Illinois, before moving to the North Country in 2008. She works as a paramedic, freelance musician and writer.
Kristen Holt-Browning is the author of the novel Ordinary Devotion (Monkfish Books), the poetry chapbook The Only Animal Awake in the House (Moonstone Press), and the forthcoming poetry collection Watershed (Fernwood Press). She earned an MA in English from University College London and lives in Beacon, New York, where she works as a freelance book editor. Kristen will be a Writer-in-Residence at Snowfort this month.
Sara Schaff, a graduate of Brown University and the MFA program in creative writing at the University of Michigan, teaches creative writing at SUNY Plattsburgh and serves as executive editor of Saranac Review. She is the author of the story collections The Invention of Love (Split/Lip Press, 2020) and Say Something Nice About Me (Augury Books, 2015) and her work has appeared in many other places, including the Kenyon Review Online, Gay Magazine, The Missouri Review, Yale Review Online, andLithub.
Amie Zimmerman is from Portland, Oregon. Her work has been published in Annulet, Denver Quarterly, Protean, and Lana Turner, among others. She is author of four chapbooks, including 31 Days/The Self (Ursus Americanus, 2021) and a debut full length collection, False Spring (Roof Books, 2026). Alongside Hajar Hussaini and Matthew Klane, Amie co-curates poetry reading series Salon Salvage in Troy, NY.
