“Think you’re escaping and run into yourself.
Longest way round is the shortest way home.”
As we prepare for the event, we would benefit from a sense of how many people would like to attend. Please click the button to RSVP.
Usually celebrated on June 16, we’ll gather the following Saturday for our first annual (?) Bloomsday: a literary stroll through Westport inspired by James Joyce’s Ulysses. The novel unfolds over a single day—June 16, 1904—which later became known as Bloomsday after its wandering protagonist, Leopold Bloom.
Here in Westport we’ll wander together through town, stopping at local businesses for snacks, libations, and two-minute readings, enjoying conversation and company along the way. No Joyce expertise required—just comfortable shoes and curiosity.
Please meet in the gallery at Snowfort promptly at 3pm.
Here’s a video that breaks down Ulysses—not required, but it’s pretty good!
