Snowfort Books

Est. 2024

Our excitement and enthusiasm only grew in 2024, as we settled into our new space in the old E.W. Adams Hardware Store building in Westport, NY.

It was a family affair from the start, beginning with Adam’s brother Alan coming to put a new coat of paint on the walls, floors, and ceilings. Alan spent countless hours in each room, sanding, caulking, priming, painting. That got us started off on the right foot, and carried us all the way till December, when we had a soft opening with several pop-up events for shopping and literary discussion.

Paint, paint, paint. The building was in such good shape that we didn’t need to do too much else. We did put in a kitchen and change out the lighting. Adam’s dad cut and installed dozens of shelving dividers. We added smart locks and did some minor electrical work, but mostly it was just … lots of painting.
