About the Author
Verónica Mar Salazar Hernández was born in Venezuela and spent her childhood on Margarita Island, surrounded by nature, culture, and traditions. She has two daughters and is the granddaughter of a traditional artisan weaver.
In her home country, she is a lawyer, which allowed her to see traditions and crafts as an essential element in preserving the identity of a people or a nation. She decided to write the story El Tesoro del Datilero (The Date Palm Treasure) to highlight, visualize, and value a tradition and its history. The book is aimed at Venezuelans both in their homeland and those who have migrated, ensuring they never forget their roots.
