What happens when a poetry reading goes off the rails?
Adam Robinson—writer, publisher, bookseller, lapsed musician, and possible time traveler—takes the stage for a one-man show to offer his testimony about his life as a writer and artist.
Part reading, part storytelling, part music, and part something harder to classify, the show moves between poems and personal stories, prepared material and interruptions, sincerity and absurdity. Along the way, Adam considers the problem of separating art from the artist, revisits his religious upbringing, attempts to play a song or two, and tries to make a case for empathy in a culture that seems increasingly determined to make that impossible.
There will be special guests. There will be audience participation. There will be a six-foot stepladder.
